Tier1(general) outside UK person should be working presently

I am a new bee to this forum. Discussions here are of really good quality and people are knowledgeable and helpful.

I have the following question. Hope I will get an early reply.

I have got relieved from my present company last week. I am supposed to join another company in India in another 2 weeks time. Before joining another company I would like to apply for Tier1 (general) outside UK - visa from India.

I have worked for the last 11 months and salary drawn is sufficient enough to get the required visa points. Can I apply for the visa?

If I am not working and I am disclosing it, how it will affect my application.

You dont have to be working when you make an application for tier 1 (G).
