Work and Travel Visa for bulgarian citizens

Hi,

I'm a bulgarian student and I live and go to university in Germany. I'd like to go to Canada for a year and work there. The concept of what they call "working holiday" in Germany would be perfect for me. But as a bulgarian citizen I'm not allowed to apply for that here but have to contact the embassy in my own country.
The canadian embassy in Bucharest (as there is no visa department in the consulate in Sofia) doen't mention anything like that tipe of visa on their website though. There is an agency in Bulgaria that offers the service of applying for a "Work and Travel visa for bulgarian students" but I'd like to apply by myself without having to pay the commission. Is there a possibility for applying directly at the embassy of Canada in Bucharest?

I'd be very grateful if anybody has any information about that, or can send me a website or the name of a person from the visa department in Romania.

I dont know if Working Holiday visa to Canada is available for Bulgarians. The following Canadian government site does not mentions that Bulgaria participates in the programme with Canada:

However, I am not sure if there are other options open to you. You may want to research that.

In the UK, if you want to apply for the programme, you can not apply directly to the Canadian consulate. The programme in the UK is managed by Bunac (http://www.bunac.org/). So, it is possible that if a programme is available in Bulgaria, you may need to apply via a similar organisation. HOWEVER, before you pay any money to an organisation, please make sure that they are legitimate and approved by Canada consulate.
