Urgent -Weird problem - Moderators please help -

Post by confusedhsmp » Thu Oct 14, 2010 1:16 pm

I was initially on HSMP back in 2007 with my renewal in 2009. I was able to earn enough for my extension in to Tier 1 Highly Skilled.

However now I am switching for a new career in Financial Services as a Research Analyst. The initial salary, being an entry level role, is lower than what I am earning now AND doesnt give me enough points for another extension. However I wouldnt need anextension anymore as my ILR or Probationary citizenship (according to new draft bill) is due in 2012 - at the end of my currrent stay.

Please advice if its going to be a problem for me taking up this new role/job. It is my dream role which I got on the basis of my MBA (finance) studying part time. I dont wana miss the opportunity. The employer has been reassuring that my development will be fast tracked with first promotion within the first year (which may well bring my earnings up to the level required).

Suppose if I am earning lesser than what I am required for a normal extension application in 2012 (eventhough I will be applying for settlement not extension), whould that be a problem?

Under the current rules, there is no minimum requirement for income / earnings when it comes to settlement applications.

Will the same condition exist under the new Earned Citizenship law(s) - if and when the same are introduced - will be known only when detailed information about the new law(s) is announced / published.
