We have a provision in my company to pay advance gross salary of 1 month and it will be reflected in the payslip as
Advance pay for 1 month. (Obviously the next month salary will be zero)

If I am applying in the 1st week of november, and get my nov pay in advance in the October salary which will be mentioned in the october payslip as Advance pay for Nov. Will this advance pay be accepted as my earning ?

Be patient when seeking answers. People will respond to your queries if and when they wish to!

You can claim points for earnings in a consecutive 12 month period (i.e.- 12 months salaried income).

I'll claim points for nov 2009 to oct 2010, my query is if manage to get the nov 2010 salary also in the october 2010 pay(which will also be mentioned in the payslip as advance pay) will they consider this also in the 12 months earning or not?

IMO this advance pay will not be considered as this is being paid for work you will be doing outside your claim period. Wait for others to comment..

For 12 months work an employee gets paid for 12 months, not 13!

Make sure you get into a "no visa, no fee" agreement with the consultancy!

I got my salary on 26 feb 2010 but surely jan 2011 salary will be credited in my bank account on 31 Jan 2011.(last working day of the month)

I can qualify only if the jan 2011 salary is included, According to guidelines I can claim for a calendar year, then in this case it'll be 26 feb 2010 to 25 Jan 2011.

Need your suggestions...as i would not have got my jan 2011 salary by then.

Reference: Guidance Tier1:

Earnings period we will assess
99 An applicant can claim points for the earnings he/she has previously made for his/her work.

100:The applicant can claim points for previous earnings in any single, consecutive 12-month period during the 15 months immediately before the date of applying. An applicant may claim points for a 12-month period of earnings outside of this 15 months if they can show that he/she has been:
away from the workplace for a time during â€¢ the last 12 months because of a period of maternity or adoption-related absence.

It is not about when you get paid but about whether or not the payments pertain to the period that you are claiming points under earnings. If there is significant disconnect between the relevant month and the actual date of payment you are normally better off using a letter from the employer instead of the payslips.

Confused because of the example in the Tier 1 Genaral-Guidance Sec2:17:

101.All the periods we specify are calendar months (for example 14 January â€“ 13 February).

Mention dates for the earning period. If you apply in the first week of Feb then the earning period you can use is 1FEb 2010 to 31 Jan 2011. What is wrong with that?
