ILR REQUIREMENT FOR A DEPENDENT

Post by abhishek26 » Wed Oct 20, 2010 6:11 pm

Hi,

Need to know if my spouse is applicable to apply for ILR with me .

I was on the following status

Jan 2006- Feb 2009 -Work Permit
March 2009 - Present - Tier 1 General

I will be applicable to apply for ILR in Dec 2010

My spouse came to UK in Oct 2007 as dependent Work Permit.

Her status got chaged to WP from March 2008- July 2010.

Now she is on Dependent Tier 1 from August 2010.

My query is that whether she is applicable for ILR in Dec 2010 along with me as she has changed her status from dependent WP to WP to Dependent Tier 1 .

Thanks.

Hi,

I got to know from the lawyer that my wife needs to be on Dependent Tier 1 visa for 2 years then only she is applicable to apply for ILR.

In my case she is currently on Tier 1 dependent from August only.

This means that once I get the ILR, she needs to apply for spouse visa and after 2 years she can apply for ILR.

Can anybody please confirm if this is correct.

Thanks .
