Filling FORM AN Questions

Post by hsac1301 » Mon Oct 25, 2010 2:40 pm

Hi,

We are applying for naturalization on 3rd of November.
I have some queries regarding filling the AN form.

1. we are applying on the basis of 5 year+1 year(ILR) i.e first entered uk on 25 Nov 2004,got ILR 30 oct 2009 and applying for citizenship on 3rd NOV 2010. Do I need to provide all the absences from 25 Nov 2004 or just the last 5 years i.e OCT 2005 to OCT 2010?

2.My wife came to UK on dependent visa. Where can i find her Home office /UKBA ref No. She is applying on the basis of 3 years ILR . There is no ref no. on her ILR letter(our ref: blank.)

3. I am a permanent employee. Is that Tax Ref is PAYE REF?

4. Present address on page 5:Do I need to provide last 5 years addresses(oct 2005 to present) or all the address from nov 2004?
and do i need to write the present address again on page 5 as well (to date?)

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Hsac

Your wife cannot apply for naturalisation at the same time as you - on the basis of "3 years ILR" - since you are not yet a British citizen and she, therefore, cannot apply for naturalisation as a spouse of a British citizen.

Read Guide AN for answers to remaining queries or post Form AN queries in this topic.

Your spouse may apply for naturalisation through either of the following routes:
Route 1 - Complete 5 years in the UK and upon fulfilling standard requirements apply for naturalisation.
Route 2 - Once you naturalise and are granted citizenship (naturalisation certificate), your spouse may then apply for naturalisation as spouse of British citizen as and when requirements for spouse /civil partners are met.
