Spouse Visa - Applying for the first time

Post by ForumsPK » Mon Oct 25, 2010 6:51 pm

Hiya

I am a newbie looking for some answers. Have been going through the forum but can't seem to gather what exactly I need.

Here is the deal

I am a British citizen getting married back home in Pakistan. I wonder how do I proceed with her visa?

Currently I've got the following items sorted out

1) Bank statements and pay slips - Past six months
2) Utility bill / credit card bills etc past three months
3) Employment confirmation letter with my position, salary and status.
4) Any investment or savings?
5) Of course my own passport
6) Now do I need a tenancy agreement from my landlord? or that business where they say if you are overcrowding etc? Currently I live in a studio apartment on me own.

Is this all I would need or is there anything else I missing?

Now once I am in Pakistan and sorted with the wedding, what steps do I need to take?

1) Get her passport sorted.
2) Get TB test done.
3) Get her do English language test - assuming the application will be submitted after 25th november 2010. Any guidance on what actually will be in the test or how to take it would be really appreciated. Are there any test centres in Pakistan or what as looking at the following doesnt show any centres in Pak.
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... rtners.pdf
4) Marriage certificate.
5) Anything else?

What forms do we have to fill in and what steps should we take to make sure application is processed swiftly.

Thanks a lot in advance

Kareem
