New passport query

Hi
I am an Indian working in the UK on a 3 Years work permit. Recently i had to apply for a new Indian passport (as my old passport was damaged). The Indian embassy has sent me the new passport and they have cancelled the old passport by cutting its edges and stamped it on the front and last pages as cancelled. Now i have both the passports. Now my doubt is whether i should get the LTR stamping on my new passport or should i carry both the
passport during my travel?
