government "usually" have something called "transitional arrangement" in place whenever they make wholesome changes to their policy.
I would thinkthat, speaking from legal point of view, govt. cant just refuse to extend the visa for those who are under tier 1 already as that would cause a million lawsuits against UKBA...
but what the govt. CAN do, legally, is making it difficult for people to satisfy the conditions(when extending visa) thus making it impossible for the majority of people to actually be able to extend their visa.
Thats what they did when they introduced changes in April(was it 2010 or 2009, not sure) to tier 1 and tier 2.
Thats just my opinion, who knows what they are doing sitting across mahagony table at 10 downing street and sipping whiskey while "deleberating" over their new immigration "plan" so that they are not made to look like cowboys (and COWgirl, you know who im talking about!)
