Calculation of the five year period for settlement.....

Post by antouk » Sat Nov 27, 2010 2:25 pm

Hi,

I happen to read about the calculation of five year period for ILR from this official doc.

It has one paragraph saying :
there have been no absences abroad (apart from those described in the paragraph above) and authorised employment or business here has not been broken by any interruptions of more than three months or amounting to more than six months in total;

Does this mean a person should not have been out of the work for more than 3 months?

My case is :

I have been to my home country for around 80days after resigning from my company. I have come back now and searching for work. Its been almost 100 days i am out of work now. Will this affect my ILR??

Somebody please guide me.
cheers

The paragraph you have quoted from is regarding "absences from the UK", and not "absences from work".
