Chances of Visa Rejection - Mismatch of Name in PP and other

Post by tomailsatya » Mon Nov 29, 2010 2:19 pm

Hi Friends,

I am planning to apply Tier 1 (General) Visa and i have got all the necessary or supporting documents. But unfortunately i have noticed that as per my passport my surname is GODIPATI now there is a mismatch in supporting docs (GODIPETI). Please see the below

GODIPATI as in Passport
GODIPETI as in Payslips and Bank Statements including maintenance Statements

Whether will it leads to any rejection ?

Please suggest me in this regard.

Please get the same corrected in your company and bank before applying.

I assume Passport has the correct name!

Then you can highlight the same in the covering letter from the bank and the employer.
Thanks,
Sumit.

Thank you very much sumit for your reply.

Yes my passport name is correct.

As you suggested i can get corrected in my bank statemetns and with current employer certificates or payslips. But the problem is with the previous employer certificates or payslips.

Please suggest me how should i go ahead ?

Yes, it will be rejected.

Not sure how you did not notice that names were different, but I suggest you get incorrect ones fixed. For old payslips, ask your company if they are willing to re-print with your new name details.

But definitely, don't silently hope that the visa officer will not notice the slight difference in spelling.

Where are you, if you don't mind me asking? If you are in India, get Affedevit done indicating the changes?

I had a friend of mine, who has similar sort of mistake and he got rejected because of it. Do not intend to discourage you but its better to be safe :)

How else can you prove that your bank statements and employer certificates or payslips are actually yours?
