Past Earnings

Post by keem » Fri Feb 10, 2006 6:18 pm

I would like to know the chances of securing the Home Office approval for my HSMP Application based on the following facts:
1. My employer issue pay slip only on fragment of my total emoluments. Some allowances are paid which are off payroll. This allowances form bulk of the total salary earned as contained in my employment letter.

Based on the above facts, payslip from my employer will not reflect my correct earnings but my salary statement of account where my salary and allowances are paid clearly shows my earnings from my employer.
My question is: Since the earnings on my payslip is quite lower than what i earn and may not be up to the point i wish to claim, will statement of accounts suffix to claim points in this section plus a tax document or without a payslip, i may probably not get the HSMP Approval. Cheers!

You are right in your assessment here. Payslips and tax documents form the main items of proofs accepted by the case worker when awarding earning points. Since your payslips show a lower salary, would it be correct to assume that the taxable amount is also as per the payslips? If thats the case then you will find it hard to claim points for the actual amount you earn.

Its stated in the guidance notes(sorry cant dig it out now) that all allowances not stated on the payslip will not be counted towards earnings.
I would advice you find a way of including these allowances on your payslips.

This actually happened to me..but I could convince the HR person to prepare a schedule to include my allowances/bulk payments.

good luck
