Tier 1(G) Child dependent visa for the child born in India

Post by pta28 » Sat Dec 11, 2010 6:45 pm

Hi,

I am a Tier 1 Visa holder and have my wife as a Dependent also.We got a baby recently at India and Iam planning to get a Dependent Visa for my child. The child is born in India and have Indian Birth certificate and Passport.

Can someone please advice if I need to apply for the child dependent Visa from India (through VFS) or is it possible to apply here in the UK itself by getting the child passport & birth certificate?

Thanks,
Antony

Hi Antony

Can you please tell me if you got the visa for your baby? and what is the maintenance fund requirement if you apply visa for your baby from India. I am in similar situation as you are.

Kindly reply
Amit

Hi Amit,

I have not applied for the Visa yet and I will be applying soon.

You have to provide evidence of maintenance fund of £533 (if you have been in the UK for more than 12 months) otherwise £1600 in your account for least 3 months prior to the date of application.

Antony

Hi,

I am trying to process the dependent Visa for my child in India through an agent who is asking for Employer's Letter as an evidence.

I am currently self employed as an employee with my own private Ltd company and is it ok to provide an employer letter to myself signed by me ( as a Director)

can somebody please advice if this will be accepted?

Thanks
Antony

Hi Antony,

Thanks for the reply. One more query, may be you have any idea about it. I came to UK in Oct 2009 on tier 2 - ICT and then went back to India in Jan 2010 and came back in april 2010 again on ICT (around 80 days in India). I got tier 1 in Aug 2010. So, I am in UK since oct 2009 but was in India for around 80 days. So, should I consider myself as living in UK for more than a year or less than a year as my tier 1 got stamped only in aug 2010.

Regards

Amit,

I think your entry from Apr 2010 will be counted.

Its better to double check on this.
