Tier1 General-Best option to apply(Outof UK/withinUK)600 Cap

Post by techy123 » Tue Dec 14, 2010 2:36 pm

Hi

I am planning to apply for Tier 1 General and would like to shift from Tier 2 to Tier 1 general. I would like to know from the seniors/experts from this group about the best option to apply.

As the monthly quota (600) was set for each month till March 31, 2010.. I am getting enough points for Tier1 General. Is this is 600 quota cap for only the applications from outside of UK or including the UK new Tier 1 General applications.

1. Currently I am in UK.. is this best option to apply for Tier 1 General from UK itself. If there is any 600 quota is applicable for UK based new applications + out of UK new applications.. I am planning to apply from here from UK.

2. In case the 600 quota cap is only for outside UK new tier 1 general applications, should I apply from India (out of UK).

3. If I got Tier 1 general visa before 31-March-2010, How about the extension criteria after 2 years initial visa period. Still I need to show the same existing rules (i.e before 31-March-10) or applicable with new rules (i.e. from April 2011). Please clarify.

Please suggest me, which is the best option (1 or 2) and safer one.

Thanks

Well, this cap is only for those applicants who are applying from outside UK.In your case, if you are in uk you wont come under this cap till 31st march 2011 and if you apply before that then you fall under the old rules.

I think , option 1 is best for you.

If you want to apply outside UK, forget about it. You must apply inside UK. Good luck.

Hi adityaisukapalli,

Thanks for your reply. Anyway I am planning to apply from UK only.

Just to know more info about 600 quota cap outside UK... In case, if some one applies now in Dec'10 or Jan'2011 for Tier 1 outside UK, when can they expect to receive the visa. As the quota cap will be over by 31-March-2011. What are chances of getting visa before 31-March-2011. How soon they can hurry up to apply.

Thanks

I think the carry forward processing will be a big problem. There are many people who already have applied earlier in october and november, still waiting for visa. So, any one applying in february or march will be under trouble.
