does going on holiday effect child benefit?

im a brit citizen born here, so my question may be slightly different from others here as its not an immigration question-sorry. but i wanted to know how loing after leaving the uk will child benefit and child tax cred stop? is child cred based on work? so if out for 2months will that affect..whts the legal amount of time?
