ILR - When Will I be Eligible

Post by liwasha » Sat Jan 15, 2011 1:16 am

Hi

Could someone please advise me on when I can apply for ILR based on 10 year Long stay. Here is my info:

- Entered UK in May 2001 on 6 month visitor's visa
- Went back home in September 2001 and obtained Student's visa in October 2001 at the British embassy in my home country (Visitor's visa was still valid)
- Returned to UK in December 2001
- Subsequent Student visa renewals done on time
- Been out of UK once for less than 90 days in 2002
- Still on Student's visa up to now, expiring April 2012

My main question is: When I'm I eligible to apply for ILR? May 2011 or December 2011?

Thank you in advance.

If applying under long residence, you should be eligible for settlement in May 2011.
