2008 Applicants

Post by Aceform » Tue Jan 18, 2011 4:16 pm

Just checking scrudu's spreadsheet, and looks like people who have applied towards the end of 2008 have got theirs approved already.

Any one from 2007 batch still waiting?

Hi there, me and my husband have also applied in October 2008, we also received letters asking for additional documents in June 2010, replied back in August. Haven't heard anything since.
But looking at the timeline tracker it seems there is another (at least) 5-6 months of waiting, as April/May 2008 are currently in focus.

This is ridiculous. Waiting since Nov 2007 :-(

Have you made any SW claims? Any issue with your birth cert?

How come people from mid 2008 are receiving their approvals while 2007 applications are still pending.

Hope we all should hear some good news soon :-)

This is interesting alright.
I know a friend who has applied in Jan-2008, submitted additional docs etc but hasn't received any approval yet.

We are still waiting too.

Applied 10/2008, Request for further info 05/2010 (sent info back just couple of days later)

Middle of next month we would have been waiting the full 28 months, although the INIS website now states 26 months if my math is accurate.

But keep in mind there was a strike in protest of the public servants pay cuts last year or so so if I remember correctly, so you should probably add a month or 2 to the waiting time.

Bummer I know, but what can one do?

Hello all,
i applied in Jun 2008 & was asked for additional documents on 26th Apr 2010 & sent it Apr 30th 2010. Gardai report was pending when i called in december 2010 but seems to have come thru & the file was sent to minister on Jan 13th 2011. So, Gardai report takes about 8 months. A friend of mine who's also of the Jun 08 batch was aslo told that his file has been sent to Minister on Jan 19th. same amount of time for the Gardai report for him aswell.

if you are from May/Jun/July 2008 batch, your file should be in Final stages (i.e) with Minister - Otherwise, something is wrong somewhere..

our seniors say it takes about 5 weeks at Minister's office.. i'll know the decision in Feb i guess..

That's good news Hotspurs. Just one last hurdle. Let us know when you receive it. Good Luck.

Also, it's good to know that they told you the exact date when the file was sent to minister. I never had such pleasant experience.

HI everyone,
Just a quick update to the rest of us who are still awaiting for decision. I've just called Citizenship section today at 11.30, went through in 20 something minutes and was told that they're awaiting for the Garda report to come trough.
She has also mentioned that they've "received a number of such reports over the last few days" in relation to September/early October, it's just that my report is not there for some reason.

Anyhow, I wish luck to all of us.

There's a medical consultant colleague of mine who applied in Dec 2007. Still no news till dates. He had written numerous letters. He get's the same generic response of "naturalization takes avg 26 months to process bla....bla...bla" every time. He keeps sending update SW report every 6 months, hoping to pacify them. Wife of another family friend (she's a social worker) applied in July 2008. Latest update: "Waiting on outside report". They wouldn't even tell her what report they were waiting on. I've asked her to request and send in her SW report in any case.

Welcome to the Irish Naturalization and Immigration Services people

Today on the phone I haven't actually asked her of what kind of report they're awaiting for. She mentioned it herself.

All this is beyond my understanding, it seems to be a pure lottery :(
