Passport expired and renewal

Post by katiepig » Fri Mar 03, 2006 6:59 pm

My husband is considering going back, but his passport has expired in the 3 years our application has took.We know he can apply for it sending back when we cancel his application, but would the HO send it back to us so we can go to the Turkish embassy to get it restamped, or do we meet them at the airport and he travels on an expired passport?
Just wondered if anyone else had experience of this.

P.S. I have done a search and could not find anyone with the same situation.

Thanks

Has your husband spoken to the Turkish embassy about this? Does he need to produce the previous passport in order to get another one?

Or might it be the case that they will issue him with a one-way use-once-only passport to get him back to Turkey where he will be able to get a proper new passport?

i went through the same thing they will want you to buy a plane ticket then they will give you the old passport and then you can apply for the new one when you get the new one they will take it and then give you the plane ticket and then serve you form IS151 and IS96 (self checkin) and then give you the new passport on your departure to your home country.

Hello guys

Thanks for the advice. We need to contact the embassy to find out the plan of action. We would prefer the passport to be renewed here before he goes back.
We have decided to wait for the ecaa application answer,so not looking at going back as quick as before.

Your info gives us a better understanding of the process.

Again big thanks :)
