28 day rule?

Post by ankitgoel26 » Mon Jan 24, 2011 5:07 am

Hi,

I know this has been asked and replied many times on this forum, but I am not able to find the policy on UKBA website for travelling within 28 days rule if one has to apply for ILR in 5 years.

I understand that one cann't be outside UK for more than 6 months in total during a period of 5 years. Are 28 days covered within these 6 months or is it separate?

Please advice.

Best Regards,
Ankit

Take a look at ILR guide about when you can apply ILR ..
It says 28 day max before you reach 5 years .....ie you can apply ILR when you reach almost 4 years 11 months and 2 days ....

Hope u got the logic ...

There is not such rule.
You can apply for ILR whenever you complete continuous stay of 5 year. However, you can not apply earlier than 28 days from completion of 5 years.
