Treaty rights for non-EEA national

Post by leoleo » Wed Feb 09, 2011 5:39 pm

Hello every one!
I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the following:

When does a non-EEA national start to exercise his/her treaty rights: from the date of the marriage (in my case we married in UK) or from the date he/she started to work (in my case I found a job a month after the marriage)?

Thank you in advance.

The non-EEA national is not exercising treaty rights: that is what the EEA national is doing.

If you mean, when does the non-EEA national become entitled to reside in the UK as a family member, it's as soon as you are married (as long as the EEA national is exercising treaty rights by working, studying etc.).
