15 month period for earnings

Post by ksegal » Thu Feb 17, 2011 12:20 am

Hi

Will be grateful if someone is able to clarify.

I am planning to apply a month before for a tier - 1 extension of visa expiring in April 2011. If I apply say 21 March 2011, will I be able to claim earnings from period starting 1 Dec 2009 - 30 Nov 2010 (under the 15 months rule)?

Thanks
KS

By my calculations the earliest date you can use is 21 or 22 Dec 2009 as that is 15 months prior to 21 march 2010.

Thanks for replying.

I get paid on the 25th of every month. Agreed the 15 month period starts on 21 Dec 2009, but won't I be able to take credit for my December salary?

Thanks

That's a good question. I asked the same question when I first got my visa. You can claim the salary for a month as long as

1) the date on which the salary comes into your account is within your 12 months continuous salary claim for points (so do your dates maths accordingly)

2) and the salary date on your pay slip (or any other corroborating evidence) matches with the date when the salary got credit to your account i.e point 1) above.

Hope this helps.

Ateer,

I think your point 2 is not correct in totally correct.

In some cases, the date on the salary slip and the date on which it is credited is not always same. There might be few days of difference. say the payslip shows end of month date and the salary get credited into account on 1st or 2nd of next month.

so it is not necessary to match the salary slip date with bank statement.

any views?

thanks
