Dependant - Visitor and Dependant visa

Hi,

I am getting married in May and I am thinking of bringing my fiance here on visiting visa and then apply for dependant visa from UK. Can someone suggest if i can do this? The reason i thought about it is because it is taking more than 3 weeks for dependant applications.

Any suggestions is much appreciated.
