Can I apply for Tier 1 from short term Tier 2 ICT (3 months)

Hi Everyone,

Many thanks for eveyone for posting such useful information and comments on this forum to help everyone.

I was planning to apply for Tier 1 G this year from India and because of 90 days maintenance funds requirements i could have applied only in first week of Jan 2011. But UK closed T1G applications from outside UK in decemeber so I am unable to apply.

Now my company has sent me for one short assignment in UK on Tier 2 ICT, my VISA is valid upto April 2011. I am in UK now from last one week. Now I have 2 questions:
1.Can I apply for Tier 1 General during my staty here (though I have a short duration T2 ICT Visa)
2. I have seen that T1G in country timeline is also longer, what would happen if my T2 VISA expires (Due in April) before that.

Many thanks in advance for your expert guidance. I need your inputs urgently as I need to act quickly if this can be done

1. yes (245C(f)).
2. If you make a valid Tier 1 application before your current leave expires, then your current leave is extended by virtue of section 3C.

I am a regular reader on this forum and you are always very helpful and provide very good advise.

I was quite confused about this and this is the last chance for Tier 1 G if I want to take.
