indefinite leave

what are the changes in the pipeline for indefinite leave and could anybody tell if I could wait till aug /sep to apply for PR

Nobody knows yet. The govt plans to consult on settlement in 'Spring'. You will have to wait for more announcements from the govt once this consultation is over.

My guess is that you should be fine waiting for aug/sept to apply for PR as long as you can meet the preliminary tightened criteria mentioned here (page 10):

These rules come into force in April 2011.
