Reverting back to a Student visa

Post by calvert » Sat Mar 18, 2006 5:05 pm

I came to the UK on a student visa - from a non-visa country that subsequently became a visa country during our time here. After my Masters, I switched to student dependant status so my wife could do her MA. She proceeded to enrol for a PhD which ends in 2009. I work full time as I should - as a student dependant. Can I revert to student status - to do my PhD ie, is repeat switching possible: student - student dependant - student? The rules show that its possible to remain in the UK as a student if you originally came as a student BUT is this possible in my case - where there has been a break in student status. Opinions welcome.
