Tier 1 ( General ) Extension query: Uk benefits

Hi,

I am currently on tier 1 visa and needs to renew my visa next year. My wife is expecting and we are curently in UK. The doctor has asked to fill a form in order to exempt the prescription charges as for pregnant ladies its free. Will this effect my extension in UK as I am not entiteld to claim any benefits. In any way does that impact my visa extension ?

Also my another query is after my child is born do I need to apply for dependent visa immediately for him ? If now how long can he stay ?
