You can apply anytime 1, 2, 6, 12 months. The only downside is you may have to apply for one more extensions afterward, because your new visa stamping date will start from the visa approval date results in shortfall for your ILR application.

Hello All

I had raised this topic before also and iam doing it again because of the below reason mentioned in the Tier1 General Policy Guidance 6th April 2011 it states

Description of category:
The Tier 1 (General) category is aimed
at migrants who wish to engage in highly
skilled employment in the UK.
Successful applicants will be free to seek
employment without having a sponsor
or to take up self-employment/business
opportunities in the UK.

Iam on Tier1 general visa and my extention is due in August 2011 i am part self employed and also working for a company in retail sector ( sales )

I have income from both sources self employed(limited company) and salary from job

I was wondering can i include my sales job salaray towards earnings as it is NOT A HIGHLY SKILLED JOB do you think home office will accept it or may refuse ?

Your valuable replies and advice is highly appereciated

Thank you

Regards

Sahil

And the answer, as given above, remain the same. What you do is irrelevant as long as you meet the eligibility criteria for extension.

And "nature of job" is not amongst the eligibility criteria. Reading thepolicy guidance will help.
