Tier 1 General - Success

Post by Celtic » Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:53 pm

Hi folks,

I decided to register here and share my experience so it could be of assistance to others. My timeline is:

1. Category changing (switching) from - PSW
2. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) - 09/March/2011
3. Date application posted - 16/Feb/2011
4. Date payment debited - 17/Feb/2011
5. Payment mode - Visa Debit
6. Date Acknowledgement received - 21/Feb/2011 (Dated 17/Feb/2011)
7. Date Biometrics letter received - 24/Feb/2011 (Dated 22/Feb/2011)
7. Date of biometric enrolment - 25/Feb/2011
8. Date passport / BRP received - Passport received 12/Mar/2011 (Dated 10/Mar/2011)

My earnings came from both employed/self employed sources.

My chartered accountant's letterhead didn't include any registration number whatsoever. All it said, his firm is regulated by ICAEW.

Also I registered as self employed in July and backdated my registration by one month. I misplaced one of my ni quarterly bills so only provided 2 out of 3 I had received along with utr.

None of my employers were contacted by ukba. I followed the guidance and provided the minimum proof they had asked for.

As long as your application is genuine and you have used correct form and followed guidelines, your application will be approved.

Cheers

When I got my psw, I would have been able to qualify for tier 1 with earnings of £20,000 back then. But then labour government changed salary bands in April 2010, so after the changes, salary requirements jumped to £30,000.

And finally lib-dem government increased points requirement and I then needed £35,000+ to qualify.
