How Long Before 4EUFAM Expired Have to Apply for PRCARD

I am holding 4EUFAM Stamp as a spouse of EU Citizen.MY Stamp will expire in June 2012. Ofcourse I have to fill EU Form 3 to get PR Card. My question is how long before I can apply for PR Card.I heart that I can send all my documents along with my wife passport & other documents 6 months before my present stamp will expire.So it means I can send my documents to DOJ in December 2011.Please correct me if I am wrong or send me some feed back if I am right??? Any PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

That is correct, 6months before your card expires.
