Hi

Thanks for your comments.

Can I apply for Indian Passport first, surrender it (dont apply for any dependent visa) then apply for British Passport. So that my child will have Indian proof for future.

Is this ok ? will that be acceptable /useful?

I agree that I need to spend some extra money here but want to hold Indian proof for my child , Is there any other way ? Will OCI/PIO card do the same ?

Regards
MSK

If you are applying OCI for your daughter she don't need any indian passport you can apply using your passport surrender certificate.

Your child already have indian proof because your name will be there in your baby birth certificate. You are going to get surrender certificate after your british citizenship

If anyone parent is still Indian and holds Indian passport then the child is not eligible for OCI.

Yes I got it wrong from the FAQ:

5. Can Minor children apply for OCI?
Yes, if either of the parents is eligible for OCI.
