Gap between work permit for ILR

I came to UK on 20 dec,06 with visa valid till 6 aug 07. I managed to find an other job and got visa stamped on 14 aug 07. So i have about 8 days gap between two visas. I cannot exactly remember but i assume for the next work permit to be stamped on 14th aug, my passport should have been in homeoffice prior to expiry if first work permit. Other than this my visa over 5 yrs had been continous without any gaps. Can someone advice me when i will be eligible to apply for ILR. is it 5 yrs from 20 dec or 14 aug?
