planning for hsmp

Post by vahini » Fri Apr 07, 2006 6:00 pm

Hello!
Can any one please help me understand the time frames. From what I understand,
1.We have 3 months to apply for EC(visa for entry) after getting HSMP approval.
2. The EC(visa for entry) is valid for 6 months.
3.Our 2 year time period starts from the day we enter the UK(with in these 6months).
Your reply clarifying if i am right will be very useful and very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Vahini.

1.Yes
2. EC is not visa for entry but the procedure for getting a visa i.e. Entry Clearence. You can enter UK at any point of time during the validity of your visa but are advised to come as early as possible so that u have ample time to settle here and apply for an extension.
3. Your 2 year time period starts from the date of issue of your visa. With respect to applyintg for ILR after 5 years, your time period starts from the date of entry.
