10 years but old BRP retained by UKBA

Post by terriblescream » Fri Apr 15, 2011 8:51 pm

My previous BRP card was retained by UKBA and they issued me with a new one.

Now when I apply for 10 yrs long residence I do not have any evidence of my last leave in the UK. Will they have my previous leave in their system.

When I enquired they told me that a person cannot hold two BRP cards even if one of them is expired, it is destroyed by UKBA.

Please advise and share the knowledge

1. That is a normal procedure.
2. Do u have a copy of the card even if u dont then dont worry.
3. Any letter u received with u last card.
4. U can also order a SAR file which will have all the information of u extensions.
5. As long as u applied for the extensions on time then dont worry too much.

2. Yes I do have a photocopy of my previous BRP
3. I also have the letter which came along with the old BRP
4. Is requesting SAR required in this case? I remember all my extentions and the fact I am viewing that UKBA will only issue new BRP if my old leave was still valid, I have couple of visa stickers in my passport as well.
5. All extensions were made in time.

Is requesting SAR required in this case?
Your choice. However, for only £10, why not?
