Querry on benefits claimed for ILR

Post by ksj2011 » Sat Apr 16, 2011 4:47 pm

Hi All,

Need your advice on the above topic ( I am due for my ILR).

As we all know that we are not entitled to "Public funds".

I had claimed Single Occupancy Council tax benefit (25% discount on council tax) and my council Tax clearly states it.

I am not sure - whether it means that I have claimed "Public funds" (as the UKBA website only states that Council tax benefits are means tested;
For which I have not applied for)

I had merely called the Council tax helpline and informed that my partner is away for 6 months and if I can avail of the Single occupancy.

Which was issued over telephone and subsequently the council tax bill was amended and sent across.

Your advice will be very helpful.

Regards

1. Single person living in a house and receiving discount is not a benefit.
