Post by tulip4500 » Sun Apr 17, 2011 2:35 am

hi

if someone with ILR lose passport abroad while visiting home country then what is the process to come back to UK?

is it guaranteed that he can get ILR /ILE from abroad if he has the photocopy of the lost passport? or is it discretionary?

please advise
thanks

ILR cannot be issued by an overseas post.
One who does not qualify for ILE, for which the eligibility requirements are different, cannot be granted one.

In all probability you'll be asked to apply for "returning resident" visa. Or perhaps issued with an emergency travel document to enable you to travel to UK and apply for replacement.
