Dependent visa question

Post by acc » Mon Apr 18, 2011 12:50 pm

I was unmarried at the time when Tier-1 General visa was issued to me. Hence the number of dependents shown on my visa is zero. In near future, I plan to get married in my home country. My question is, after marriage, would it be technically possible for my wife to apply for dependent visa?

Also, is it technically possible for my mother to apply for dependent visa? She is retired from government job in India and receives pension from her previous employment… so financially she isn’t dependent on me.. would this be an issue?

Thanks

Thank you for your reply Vinny. So, just to confirm, are parents of the Tier-1 visa holder simply not eligible for dependent visa, irrespective of whether they're financially dependent or not?

If that's the way it is, then what can be the possible way to have parents visit and stay in UK? Tourist visa? Or any other visa? What's feasiblilty of getting it?

Many Thanks

You can bring them in Family Visitor Visa, you may get validity for 6 months.
