Swiss Visa from U.K.

Post by tintin » Wed May 04, 2011 11:48 am

Hello guys, I wonder if anyone can advise on this.

My mother-in-law will be coming to the UK in the next 2 weeks on a 6 month family visitor visa. She might want to make a 3-4 day trip to Switzerland while she is here.

My question is whether she will be able to apply for a Swiss visa from the U.K.? She is running out of time to apply for it from India and hence we are exploring if she can apply from the Swiss Embassy in London.

The Swiss Embassy site says that whoever applies from the UK should have a minimum 6 months UK residence permit. Is a tourist/family visitir visa classed as a residence permit?

AFAIK = As far as I know

Swiss visas are process by VFS in the UK

Best would be to give them a call and check.

Here is the link to that - http://ch.vfsglobal.co.uk/contactus.html

However I agree with sushdmehta, she would have to apply from India
