I wonder if you could help me. I am a Polish national. I arrived to the UK in September 2004 and undertook employment in October the same year. Since then I have been living and working in the UK with small breaks when I was in between jobs. The longest break lasted for nearly six months: from 1 August 2007 till 25th January 2008 (which was just about enough, I think, for me not to break my residence) . I have had my residence card since July 2006. This year I would like to apply for British nationality but I am not quite sure if I qualify.

Do I have permanent residence status? Could I apply for naturalisation in July this year? or i should applay for permnanet residence first ?
