Are you saying that your friend made an application for an EU 1 stamp and received 6 months temporary stamp and is waiting on an answer to the application?

If that is the case, expect the decision no earlier than the 10th May. It will probably be a few days later. If no decision is received within the 6 months, you can apply for judicial review proceedings in the High Court.

Send a REGISTERED post letter reminding the Department (EU Treaty Rights Section) of the deadline of 10th May 2011. If they go beyond it, see a solicitor. However, the Department will most likely send out a response right on the deadline.

Read my post. If it is an EU Treaty Rights application and you have received 6 months permission to remain on the foot of the application, then you will receive a full response in or around 10th May 2011. The Department normally take as close to 6 months as they can.

Hello Oceanstar, am happy to share my experience with you. I was in the same situation last week and i couldnt sleep.

my temp stamp expired on 3rd may. i sent them email on 30th april reminded them of the expiry, and there was no response. on the 9th of may, i wrote a joint letter stating the type of application, the date they received, told them they broke the law for not issuing it within six month, reminded them that they lost a case because of that, and gave them 3 days to issue the card or else we will commence legal proceeding. me and my wife signed it and sent it registered post.

I received letter of approval yesterday. 12th may.

Hope that helps, yours will be approved.
