Dependent Visa-Maintenance

Post by Mmx » Thu May 12, 2011 12:11 am

Hi,

I'm planning to apply a dependent visa for my daughter. I have a T1 visa and 'am leaving in UK for more than 12 months, my wife is a T1 dependent already.

The maintenance guidelines has confused me a bit, how much should I be maintaining for 3 months since I'm applying only for my daughter?

Should it be £533 for 3 months OR (£533(for me) + £533(for my wife) + £533 (for my daughter)) for 3 months?

Please note that my wife already have a T1 dependent visa.

Thanks,
-Mmx

You should maintain 533 for your daughter, but as most people on the forum suggest you should maintain funds for yourself and your wife too..

In my opinion, to be on the save side, you should maintain
£800+£533+£533

I can confirm quite categorically that you can maintain £533 for just that dependent.

There has not been a case where an applicant has been refused for failing to maintain funds for other dependents who already have a visa.

I have two friends who have gone through the same process and have been successful; keeping funds ONLY for the applicant. Various threads on this forum confirms this too.

I am also in the same situation and my dependents will be applying later this year and I am only maintaining £533*2
