Tier 1 dependant visa query

Hi,

I am currently on a Tier 1 general migrant visa valid since Oct 2008, I have my extension due this Oct. i.e., Oct 2011.

I got engaged last month and have planned the wedding in Nov 2011 so that i have my Tier1 visa renewed by then.

My fiance is in India and plans to come visit me sometime this summer. I was wondering if him applying for a visit visa will affect his chances of procuring a dependant visa later this year?

Kindly advise/suggest based on your experience or thoughts.

Thanks for your help here. you guys ROCK!

Following my previous query, since you advised its safe for my fiance to come visit me here, I was just reading up requirements for his visa application.

Is it preferable for him to apply under the 'Fiance visit visa' category as opposed to the 'General vist visa'??

Kindly advise. Much appreciated!
