Success rate of HSMP approvals

Post by Mini » Sat May 29, 2004 12:32 pm

Dear all,
Is anyone aware of the success rate of hsmp applications ? 'Cause in the forum, I feel, unless there is a very obvious glaring gap in the appl, most people are getting approvals. My view- others cud differ

Someone posted the 'probable' amount of applications HSMP receive a month recently, and coupled with the recent increase in processing time, this is most probably in the '000s region. If you want to be statistical, the amount of people that post on this forum and their success or failure rate is in no way representative of the 'overall' HSMP approval rate, which without insider knowledge, no-one really knows.

If you have been thorough and organised about it (and from the posts on this forum it seems that you pretty much have), I'm sure you will get approved... so sit back, relax and hope for the best... there is not much you can do now that you sent the pack out :D

I thought that I'd seen the approval rate on one the UK gov't websites, but I can't find it now. I did find this article and I'll paste in the relevant bit about approval rates under the old scoring system:

http://www.personneltoday.com/pt_legal/ ... leID=17368

---------------
In the first eleven-and-a-half months of the programme, there were approximately 2,600 applications, with an approval rate of about 53 per cent - but 12,000 applications are expected in the second year. It will be easier for skilled migrants to obtain 75 points under the revised criteria.
---------------

Take this for what it's worth, because this article has the new point threshold wrong...

Kawasaki,
Thanks, ive tried to be as thorough as possible and no pretense about how much i learnt about how to prepare the application pack from this forum.I learnt it all here.

I am just attempting to collect statistics on approval rate generally and compare it with the success rate in the forum. LA_Mike's sticky can get that info after some crunching.

Rella,
Thanks for the link. Will go thru it.
