Years on dependent visa

Post by mickey_hayden » Fri Apr 28, 2006 6:00 pm

Hi!
I have spent 2 yrs as dependent of a person on permit-free training visa, during which I worked in a job that would have normally required a permit.
The next 1 yr as dependent of same person who was then on a work permit.
Then due to a change in my personal circumstances I was on permit free training visa for 1 year.
Now I wish to apply for hsmp.
ie:
Aug 2002 to Jul 2004 - dependent to Permit Free Visa holder.
Aug 2005 to Jul 2005 - dependent to Work Permit holder
Aug 2005 to Jul 2006 - Permit Free Visa holder
Jul 2006 - am getting either a work permit or hsmp.

My question: does any of the above count toward my period on hsmp to apply for indefinite leave to remain?
Under the present 5 yr scheme, if I get on the hsmp program say in September 2006, when can I apply for ILR?

Many thanks,

Micha

Unfortunatly, you cannot amalgamate time spend as a dependent in any category with HSMP or Work permit for the purpose of ILR in the 5 year category. Even the time spend on Permit Free visa does not count towards ILR in the 5 year category.
