Does Tier1 dependent need to have fund in his/her account?

Post by user_name » Tue Jun 07, 2011 10:37 am

Hi All,

I gone through a few threads regarding the Maintenance Fund for Tier1 dependent.
But I am still confused.

Tier1 general migrant has been in UK for last 2.5 years
Marrying soon and wish to bring his wife to UK.
Wife will apply for her dependent visa from India.
Tier1 migrant has enough funds (£1333 = 800+533) for last 90 days.

So my question is:- must the wife also have the £533 (or its equivalent Rupees) separately to support herself?

I got confused due to the following statement in the Policy Guidance -page9

"If the Tier 1 Migrant has been in the United Kingdom for 12 months or more, each family member of the Tier 1 Migrant must have £533 to support himself/herself."

Please help.

Thank you.

I do not think dependant needs to show funds for her support if the Main applicant shows enough funds availability to support both of them.
