Do I need second extension....

Hi Guys,

My timeline is as follows:

Tier 1 Visa Valid from 1st August 2009 till 1st August 2012
Arrival date to UK - 17 Aug 2009

However I came back to India on some family issues on 20th Nov 2009.
Went back to UK again on 21st June 2010 and since then working as a contractor till date.
When applying for settlement(ILR) after my first extension, will I have to go for second extension.
Please advice gurus.

Yes, as you won't be eligible for ILR until 21 June 2015.

But why June 2015. I already entered before 28 days to be eligible for ILR. Guys am I missing something in here.

You have been out of UK for more than 6 months presumably with no employment in UK hence continuity of your residence has been broken and your time starts again when you entered UK second time

Please excuse my ignorance, but I doubt employment has anything to do with it, as we have to show up the earnings for the last twelve months.
Between for how long can we be out of the country at one stretch without affecting the ILR clock. Is it six months or three months guys.

You will be eligible for in June 2015 because there is a break in your residency. to be eligible for ILR you need to be in UK for 5 years without any single break of 90 days or over.
