Visitor visa application possible for dependents of Tier 1

Hi,

I would like to post this as general knowledge for people that are on Tier 1.

I have a Tier 1. I wanted to visit the UK with my dependents prior to filing their dependent visa. I had inquired if visitor visa is possible for dependents of a Tier 1 holder?

The answer is yes,. I have applied and got a visitor visa for my wife and two kids. We have travelled to the UK, secured a job and I will now file for their dependent visa.

Circumstances may change but this is for others who may want to take similar route.

They also have to return and apply for dependant visas from their home country.

Correct, we have travelled back to home country, will wind up everything and apply from home country itself.

I applied for general visitor visa, not family visa.

I provided a cover letter stating I have a tier 1 but not yet filed for dependant's visa but want to visit the UK for holiday/job hunt.
