What is the Spouse Visa Process? step by step

Post by sweetmissy » Mon Jul 04, 2011 11:16 am

Hey All,

I'm sure I am not the only one here, who would like clarification on this:

I am interested to know, what are the steps of assessing a Spouse Visa. I have read it only takes the ECO 10-15 mins to make a decision?!?!

Anyone out there know exactly what are the various steps/ stages of the UK Spouse Visa....

Be nice to know :D

Thank you

Salaam

1. You hand in application to Handling agents ( eg Fedex etc)who act on behalf of BHC.

2. They record and forward docs to staff at BHC post.

3. Staff at BHC post make all background inquiries about applicants and sponsor ( ie passport and doc checks, employment inquiries, liaise with government organizations etc)

4. All of No 3 passed to Entry Clarance Officer, who will make decision to grant or refuse visa.

5. No 4 is relayed back to No 2, who pass it back onto No 1, whose job is contact you to inform you the decision and to collect documents.

You are right about ECO taking about 10 minutes to make a decision, cos he has all the info collated by No 3 when making a final decision. Mind you not all BHC post works to this procedure. Only those with high number of applicants

Hope that answers your question.
