Dependants after ILR

Post by neoms21 » Mon Jul 04, 2011 11:12 pm

Hi All,

My case is as follows:

I came in Jan-2007 on Work permit and then switched to Tier-1 in Feb 2008.
Then I got the extension done after 2 years (feb 2010) so got the extension till Feb 2013.

Then my wife joined me here in May 2010.

Now I have options
1. As I'll complete 5 years in Jan 2012 and can apply for ILR in Dec 2011 itself.
2. I wait for the completion of 2 years of my wife's stay and then apply for ILR for both of us together.

My question is that if I go for the first option, then what would I need to do with my wife's visa if I get ILR ?

Thanks

Your wife should switch to FLR(M).

Would it be better if I just wait for her 2 years to complete and then apply for ILR together ?

If you choose to go ahead with your option 1, then applying for settlement without switching to FLR(M) may not be possible for dependant(s).
