Settlement visa for UK born minor currently in India

Hi,

My husband and I have been granted ILR April 2011. Our son, aged 2.5 years was born in the UK and is on my tier 1 visa (which I believe is now invalid as I am now on ILR) currently in India. Once we recieved our ILR we then applied for our son's Settlement visa via VFS in India. It has been almost 3 months and we havent received any news execpt that its under process. Is there anybody in this forum who:

(a) may have had a similiar experience wherein the minor's visa took longer than 3 months?
(b) if yes, please can I be advised on what my/VFS options are to follow up or expedite the process? Many thanks in advance.
