Turkish embassy and immigration status document

Post by olujay25 » Tue Jul 12, 2011 5:04 pm

Hello everyone,
Just wants to find out if Turkish embassy in London will accept immigration status document with my passport to apply for a visiting visa. My permanent resident card was issued on immigration status document. Any comment welcome.
Thank you.

They should. That is an official way UKBA issues the Residence Card.

Apparently UKBA has never received any complaints about it. So the problems must be rare.

If you have any problems, make sure the embassy calls Home Office to check with them. And let us know.

I would strongly recommend you to have the document translated in Turkish. You might be ok to enter Turkey but on the way back Turkish police will try to make sure that you have a right to live in the UK. As most of them don't know English, your English written document will not mean anything to them.

I do not think there is much to translate. It is just a normal UK issued Residence Card vignette on an A4 piece of paper called an "immigration status document"
